Tim Mendonsa, Founder and Creative Director, brings over four decades of distinguished experience in the global textile and fashion industry.

Tim Mendonsa, was born and bred in Bandra, Mumbai, India. In 1982, he joined Madura Coats Ltd. (Textile Division), Mumbai, India in Product Development, Marketing and Sales. He was credited for increasing exports and with stiff competition he developed uniform fabrics and hi quality shirting fabrics for key domestic players that paved the way for the start to brands like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, etc. with Madura Coats, which eventually is going great with Madura Garments.

In 1991, he joined as Vice President, Jill Stuart New York Ltd, in New York City, USA. He was instrumental in reviving and reorganizing the company from a bad state of financial crisis to be one of the leading hi-fashion Apparel/Accessories designer companies in two years during this tenure. From a staff of two persons grew the company to a staff of 100 plus with a design studio, accessories & apparel factories within a span of three years.

In 1995, Tim started designing hi-fashion Clothing /Handbags for his own collection “Timothy’s New York”. He also designed Accessories for other clothing designers like Anna Sui, BCBG, Cynthia Rowley, DKNY, etc in New York City for their Collections and Runway shows, backed with a fully equipped 24-hour Design Studio and Showroom. His Collections and Designs, won a lot of press coverage in newspapers and fashion magazines like Harper’s Bazaar, Mademoiselle, Marie Claire, Elle, Glamour, New Woman, W and Women’s Wear Daily etc. He designed handbags and belts for celebrities like the then First Lady of USA –Ms. Hilary Clinton, Madonna, Mariah Carrey, Beauty and Fashion Editors, etc. His Collections were sold in major boutiques and departmental stores in US, Canada, Japan and Europe. In 1999, he moved to Toronto, Canada where he continued to design clothing/accessories and as a creative and marketing specialist started focusing more on the international market and was involved in imports of products into USA and Canada.

In 2006, Tim travelled to India, to give back to society. He has reached out to over 100000 students in India by conducting Fashion Shows, delivered numerous Lectures and Seminars, for Textile and Fashion designing students and apparel professionals giving training, internship programs, free placements and setting up of new units. He has worked as a Member for Board of Studies in different universities and colleges in the Fashion and Apparel for their Business and syllabus development programs in India.

In 2008, he launched his own collection of Uniform Fabrics and Garments for Schools and Colleges. As years passed with experience and success, Textile and Uniforms Mart has increased the product portfolio of 100% Cotton/Polyester, Blends of Polyester Cotton, Polyester Viscose, Knits to a wide and impeccable range marked with excellent quality of: Corporate uniforms and promotional products, Industrial Work wear, School /College uniform, Scrubs and Uniforms, Lab Coats, Blazers, Waistcoats, T-shirts, Hoodies, Pullovers, Track Pants, Casual Shirts/Tops and Bottoms, Kitchen products for the Domestic Market. We have our own “The Clothing Garage” new garment production with latest technology factory in Sunkadakatte, Peenya, Bangalore.
